Why Obama?
I really don’t understand why is everyone leaning towards Obama. I think he is just all talk. I mean, I love the things he say, and the reforms he wants to implement, but he doesn’t have the record to back it up. He also doesn’t have the same experience that McCain has. Reforms require money to implement, and since we are in a recession, I am really not sure how is he going to fund so much promises. How is he even going to raise the money to cover for the deficit and fund all those reforms he speaks of at the sametime? Can he really do it? He also wants to add a health care system, and that’s a NO for me, because I would like to have freedom to choose my own health care.
I think I brought this up in another post, but I’ve spoken with a few friends from Canada and Ukraine, and they want Obama to win. I really don’t understand why, since McCain is the more experienced one with greater foreign relations. Also, I am quite amazed how people outside of the USA are so involved and updated with our politics. It’s not surprising that stock marketers or some state official is updated, but what surprise me is foreign students like me are very aware of our politics. They’re students, and busy and have much things to attend to and it’s not even their own country, but yet they are very aware of what is going on. Getting back on track, I still don’t understand why Obama is the choice here. He talks the talk, but he doesn’t walk the walk. He has no past record. During state legislations where one is suppose to vote yes or no, Obama votes “present”, which means he did not vote in any position. What the hell is that? It seems like he doesn’t even care, like o whatever.
After watching this show called Frontline on PBS, it seems as if Barack Obama is a very sneaky kind of guy. He consistantly moves up in the political world, and it seems very obvious that he is tyring to get the position of president. It’s like he calculated every move to get to where he is. One example of why I think Obama seems to be very sneaky, I don’t remember her name, but this Chicago senator asked Obama to run for her seat, because she was going to run for a position in court. So she lost in the election for court and with the support of elder senators, they politely asked Obama to withdraw from running. Obama said no to that proposal, and ran against her. However, Obama went ahead and challenged her signatures and then she was dropped from the election. After that, he decided to challenge all other candidates, which ultimately led Obama to win by default since there were no running mates. I feel that it’s fine to say no to them asking Obama to stop running, but did he really have to challenge her and everyone else? I mean, this is the lady who suggested him to run and basically offered the opportunity to him. I think it’s just a matter of mutual respect. I guess you can say, politics are dirty.
