Quotes that keep me focused
So… I have a few things posted on my wall that help keep my focused. These things mostly apply to internet marketing, but it can also be applied to life outside of this industry. The reason I taped them on my wall is because I constantly need a reminder. Also, I do believe that if you write down your goals, it will be easier to accomplish.
First of all, I have a reminder for myself. When I am feeling like crap, I try to remind myself to set the proper mindset, and take a deep breath and think about what I need to do and act on it.
“DOUG! STAY FOCUSED!
KEEP YOUR MIND FOCUSED.
FIND THE PROPER MINDSET.
DON’T LET FEELINGS TAKE OVER YOUR MINDSET.
THEN SUCCEED.“
Then I have my goal posted on top of these three quotes that I found over the years.
“My Goal: I want to be rich by 25.“
A lot of people laugh or do not think it’s possible to be rich by 25, but little do they know. Even if I may not be able to prove them wrong, there are people, who are the living proof, that has shown that it is possible. Especially in the IM (Internet Marketing) industry, it is very possible, but it just depends on how much effort you put in. “It’s like the ONLY industry where a 16 year old with a credit card can get rich in 2 years.”
“Follow the 3 mantra of marketing and you are bound to succeed, no matter what…
Test, Track, Tweak“
-BubbaMan
Test, Track, Tweak. For Internet Marketing, you are constantly investing. You test to get results, and you get results by tracking, then you succeed by tweaking your results. It’s that simple.
“Those who fail to plan, are planning to fail.“
-BusinessCoach
I really believe in this quote. Not everything thinks about their future. Ffrom my perspective, it seems like some people are working towards… nothing. Well, everyone wants X, Y, Z, but only a handful of people plan out how they will obtain that “X, Y, Z”, so they end up 10 years later in the future still saying the same thing. But if you planned 10 years ago, then maybe you will be a lot close than if you were to not plan. Even if you’re 1/3 closer, it still makes all the difference.
“F – Find a project
O – Occupy yourself with nothing else until the project is complete.
C – Concentrate on the task that make up this single project.
U – Understand that nothing is more important than this project.
S – Succeed.“
-Donny Ouyang
Of course, you should know your limits and when you should apply, and how you should apply this “FOCUS” quote. You’re not going to spend your time working on a project over your loved ones right? DUH!
WELL YEAH, JUST WANTED TO SHARE! Thanks for reading.

No commentsyo! kids are changing
Kids are so cute and funny. They find humor in the simplest things and the find fun in the simplest things. It’s amazing how they can stay occupied for hours with such simple things, such as a piece of foil. I remember kids, like myself, use to use our imaginations and play with action figures, boxes, and so much more. BUT! Unlike before, nowadays, most kids are spoiled with games and television. It is definitely not what is use to be. The key difference between the children of ten years ago and the children of today is… majority of kids today play video games, and watch television. However, it is not a bad thing though. I do believe games can somewhat help develope the mind, such as quicker thinking, problem solving, etc… Thinking more about it, I do not even remember the last time I saw a child holding a plastic action figure. The future generations are, obviously, outgrowing the old trends. Toy chains are slowly achieving the status of dinosaurs. Just a random thought, back to life.
No comments13 hour sleep is awesome
I had a 13 hour sleep last night, tha’ts right 13 hours. I went to sleep at 11pm, and woke up at 3pm. wait… 11, 12.. I mean, I slept for 16 hours! holy crap! I guess it’s probably because I only got like a few hours of sleep the night before, because of school, and I was just so tired. Especially after that cardio workout. Wow, 16 hour sleep. I actually was going to go to school, and I woke up at 7:30am to do so, but then I realized how tired I was and I decided to sleep in. I also remember waking up to a phonecall with Rolls. I pre-ordered Tamaki Nami’ s CD, yay! It’s coming out in March.
3 commentsMy 2008 Internet Marketing
2008 was a long year. At the end of 2008, what did I really accomplish?
I have bought countless e-books, and I would say that I’ve probably spent ~$500 on e-books. I’ve tried many methods and most of them do not work. Well.. Let me rephrase that, those methods work, but it just didn’t work for me. The first thing I remember trying in 2008 was building a website and showcasing my hobbycrafts. However, that failed because it was so hard to financially fund the hobby with no consistent cash income. I still believe it was a good idea on the long term, but I needed more money to do it. I ended up switching the direction of the website and turned it to a media website. The turn definitely helped increase traffic, and by a lot too. The traffic was all organic, and didn’t require much promoting to aquire that level of traffic. However, the traffic was not converting to money, so basically the traffic quality was not that great for that type of website, because the vistors would just grab what they need and leave. You can say that I didn’t monetize it well enough, and my defense for that would be: Who likes those websites filled with ads and pop ups? I don’t. I held back inorder to maintain a good quality website.
So after many other methods that I’ve tried, the next notable one was using YouTube to increase traffic and converting the traffic to $$ using CPA networks. This was my very first success in the IM area. It was quite exciting. I was making like ~$14 a day on autopilot. Not completely autopilot, of course I had to maintain it over the weekends. However, this soon came to an end when the school semester began. I was overwhelmed with school, so I put down my IM stuff. Also, I never decided to resume this method. I really don’t know why haven’t I, and I still don’t know why shouldn’t I, but I just didn’t. Kind of stupid of me to not resume it. Anyways, while I was running this YouTube method, I also joined a coaching program for PPC marketing, but I also stopped doing it because of school.
When winter recess began, I returned to the coaching program, and soon after my return, I made my very first $1 using the PPC method. WHOA, a dollar, big whoop! It might not seem like a big deal, but to me, it’s a big step to my goal. So after spending hundreds, and possibly thousands of dollars on trying new things, I can safely say, Internet Marketing works. It takes time to learn, and it takes time to tweak. I’ve learned a lot in 2008, and I wasted a lot of time too. In 2009, I want to use my time more wisely when doing IM, I will use the tools I discovered from 2008 to do my IM stuff more efficiently, I will continue on with PPC and hopefully reach my goal, and I will learn to create my on twists on techiques with the knowledge I gained from all those e-books.
No commentsMost interesting scene of my month
So the other day, when I was on the way home, I saw a homeless. The end. jk, there’s more to the story. The bum had three pets, and it was obviously notable that those pets were very obedient and loyal to their owner, the bum. Anyways, those three pets consisted of a dog, a cat, and a mouse. The amazing part was, the cat was laying on top of the dog, and the mouse was laying on top of the cat. Quite an interesting scene. As society portrays, cats and dogs do not get along. However, I do have a few friends who have, both, cats and dogs that live tranquil together. Anywho, like cats and dogs, mice and cats, also, do not get along. For these reasons, this event has been awarded with the title of “Most Interesting Scene Of My Month”.
3 commentsI <3 Logitech
I am extremely satisfied with the generosity and quality of Logitech’s warranty. I have used their products, specifically their mice, for years and they had promptly taken care of me everytime when I had a problem with their product. I have owned the Logitech MX510 (Both the red and the blue), the Logitech G7, and the Logitech G9, which I am currently using. It’s safe to say that the G9 is nothing like it’s ancestors, which isn’t should not be a surprise since the G9 is infested with newer technology. The Logitech G9 is one of the best mouse I have ever used, yet. One thing I like about the G9 is it’s crisp response, which is very critical when gaming. Anyways, because of the complimentary and superb quality warranty that I have received with these great quality products of Logitech, my business and my loyalty will remain with Logitech for years to come. <3 Logitech.
Disclaimer: My opinion of Logitech’s products is solely based on my experience with the mice that I have used over the years. I have no experience with any other product outside of handful of products that I have used, so please PLEASE use your own discretion.
note: I am not getting paid for this post, yet.
No commentsA long weekend
Thanksgiving weekend… raises arms and stretches while leans back on the chair while puts legs up on the table. Finally, I can relax! I have all weekend to catch up in some reading for school, to work on some of my projects, and most of all, to catch up in sleep- yawn. One sad thing though, I have to send in my laptop for repair and we’ll be apart from each other for ~1 week. What will I do?! I pratically grew up on the computer and internet. Anyways, I recently downloaded this lightweight program that keeps track of the things I need to do, a To-Do List Program. I have over ~30 tasks stacked up and I only have 9 completed. The tasks consist of school related things, and my own little projects.
No commentsReading the textbook actually helps
I normally never read the text books for my classes, and I have started doing it and it has helped me gain positve results. One thing I find really hard for myself to do is to stay focused while reading. While reading, I, somehow, always start thinking of some random things and then end up re-reading a paragraph for like 10 minutes. It takes me a long time to read one chapter.
Has anyone noticed how anime always has some kind of sex appeal? From my observations, I think it’s safe to say that sex sells. It really rakes in some money. Kind of funny how society takes advantage of the sex driven people.
No commentsThe Bus Silence
Today, as I was riding the bus towards down town, the first thing I noticed was the bus was cramped, like always. Next thing that I noticed was the noise level of the bus. In regards to the noise level, opposite to a bus full of high schoolers, the bus was as quiet as a library on beautiful sunny day. Quite interesting to me, to see that it’s completely quiet in a bus full of people. Everyone was occupied with their own personal tasks. Some people were reading magazines, some were reading a news paper, some were reading a book, some were listening to their iPods, and many were on their smart phones. Also, does anyone else notice how the word “iPod” replaced the word “Mp3″? iPod is a name given to the mp3 device made by apple, and everyone (if not, then the majority of the people, at the least) refers to any mp3 device as an iPod. To make things easier for me, I just go along with it and call the mp3 an iPod.
