Can you see the difference?
Like most students, I have class everyday. To commute to school, I have to ride the bus everyday. To use the bus, I have to buy a monthly pass or else… Without a pass, I would have to constantly carry quarters, or I would have to find change by asking people or drop in a corner store and ask the cashier and hope they would not say “You have to buy something first”. I am thankful that I have this pass, its role is simple, but its role makes my life easier. Even if it makes my life just a itsy bitsy teenie weenie little easier, I am glad I have this pass.
Everyone has a routine of some sort, whether it is a daily thing, whether it is a weekly thing, or it can be a something that you do with friends, or it can be somewhere that you go with a friend/lover/whatever- it can be anything. Whatever your routine thing is, sometimes all of us should just stop and think of about these things. Think about who and what is involved, and then appreciate that who or that what. Appreciate that who or that what for how he/she/it has helped your routine or how he/she/it has made your routine easier. Because without that who or that what, your routine might just be another routine that you might not enjoy as much or your routine might just be another pain in the butt. Try to think about these things, and appreciate it. If you have a hard time appreciating it, then try to imagine how life would be like without this who or this what, and then you should be able to see through everything and see the difference between what you have now and what you might not have without this who or what. Think to yourself… just think about it… then my question to you is…
Can you see the difference?
edit:
I would appreciate it if everyone can share their opinons and thoughts by posting in comments. Like my bus pass, I would love to read about what all of you applied this to.

It’s hard to appreciate the things one have.. it IS a whole lot easier to focus on the bad things or the unfortunate things that are going around in one’s life. Nonetheless, you are, indeed, CORRECT! Thank you for such brilliant insights(=
One goes through the day thinking of their routine… and most get tired of their routine’s without realizing factors that really do change one’s view on the everyday routine. Factors stated above, after thinking definitely made me realize my routine isn’t blah at all… one needs to take the time to realize that one’s routine isn’t blah because friends, lover/partner, etc. DO impact one view on the daily routine. If people are not aware of that, after reading this entry, people will realize that what you have you should really appreciate, don’t focus on the negatives because that is what actually makes a person loathe their everyday routines. Excellent points made and definitely made me realize that I don’t have to loathe my everyday routine. Love this post.
aww so sweet dougie. its true. my life wouldn’t be the same without you!
So reading the first part I thought you were talking about like materialistic things in your life. Then in your second paragraph I thought you were trying to have a more deep meaning for a routine.
My routine I do everyday is. Every night I brush my teeth, floss, rinse with mouth wash then brush again. Then I brush my retainers and put them on and go to sleep. Its really a hassle but I do it everyday.
Btw Doug, I like the topics you bring up. I still remember the one you asked me awhile back. “What is my passion.” Keep it up!
hey you guys! thanks for all the positive comments :]
That was a very good post, Doug. It makes me thinking deep into the things I have taken for granted. Sometimes we just don’t realize how lucky we are because of our friends or things others do to make our life easier. Hopefully we’ll realize it before we lose it…
I appreciate my car… SERIOUSLY… over the past 2 years of my routines driving from home to city to the library to csm… whatever i’ve had my car break down on me and i found out just how much harder things can be without a car. I appreciate being lucky enough to have a car to drive.
…because I don’t have too much, its easy to see the good in everything. Especially in the little things. You take less for granted and life becomes a little happier. Simple things fulfill your joy. CAN YOU SEE THE DIFFERENCE?
