Be Patient
When it feels like all hope is lost, be patient, you will find it.
When it feels like you cannot handle it anymore, be patient, you will find a way.
When it feels like there’s no one else right for you, be patient, you will find that person.
When it feels like you cannot live without him/her, be patient, you will find out that you are better off without him/her.
When it feels like there is no one else that can understand you the same way, be patient, there is.
When it feels like there is no chance, be patient, it will come.
When it feels like there is nothing left for you, be patient, you will find something.
When it feels like your heart is broken, be patient, it will heal.
When it feels like…
be patient…
and wait, just wait…
everything will be fine…

Good morning Dougy, it’s great to see how much you have grown, both in person as well as in your writing, since you have started blogging. Thank you for sharing your words of wisdom. Keep up the great work!
I love your words of wisdom, i love reading your posts because like i said before i can relate with something that’s going on in my life. This post is definitely one that hit me because even though it looks like in class and on campus i’m okay… i’m not and i pretty much have lost hope in quite a few things. Whether it was a guy or whatever the issue… i always end up hurtin’ and losing hope. After reading this post… it definitely opens my eyes and rethink everything… who i’m with/talking to, if people understand me, if someone actually cares about how i feel or what’s going on whether it be a friend or lover. Everyone does get hurt, healing is possible but for some, like myself it’s difficult and sometimes i think, “dang, i’m never gonna heal.” Especially moving to SF on my own, i’m in a vulnerable position and have broken down a few times. Reading these posts have actually had an impact on me, i love your posts and definitely look forward to reading more of your posts.
This post definitely hits home for me, there have been times since i have been here in SF (moved from NJ, on my own) i have had breakdowns thinking there is no hope for some reasons, trouble with a guy, stress over school or things outside of school. I always lost hope because the pain of someone leaving you, or being played or all the stress building up led me in that direction. Healin’ is possible… the only issue is that it takes A WHILE to do so, sometimes it takes so long that i think I never will. Honestly, reading this post, i rethink a lot of things: the guys that i have been with, who really understands and cares about whats on my mind, etc. I need an eye-opener, i think we all do at some point, and this post definitely was an eye-opener and a wake-up call for me… what i get from this is that i keep thinking there is no hope… things won’t work out for me in the long run, patience goes a long way… i feel i need to adapt to that mind set and things may turn out better for me and also I won’t break down as much as i have. I love reading your posts and I always look forwars to reading them because i can instantly relate whats going on in my life to the posts and it really makes me think… love the posts doug… keep up the good work.

Sometimes we don’t know what we have until it’s gone, but next time… we will see what we have, and we will try to not let it disappear and do our best to make it work.
@holly
Thanks for reading. I am so glad this helped you, even if it’s just a little bit.
@Eri*
It’s a lesson we all know, but it’s a lesson that not everyone truly understands and takes seriously. Thanks for the compliment.
